| SPS Library Overview |
The library of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences based at the Ground floor is well ventilated and furnished to meet the requirements of B.Pharm, M.Pharm & Industrial Biotechnology students, research scholars & faculty members.
It is well equipped with 6634 nos. of volumes for Pharmacy 5576 no.s and 1058 nos. of volumes for Biotechnology students with 1324 titles of the latest text Books (Foreign as well as Indian), reference books.. It can boast of 1324 titles including the text books and references. Several series of books from international publishers (Jhon Willy, Marcel Dekker, Elsevier, Springer, Informa Health Care, CRC, etc.) adorn the library shelves. About 9 nos. of scientific journals of International & National repute are subscribed by the institution.
Books purchased as per recommendation of the Dean and the faculty members of are processed and procured by the Departmental Library. These books primarily, deal with the areas related to pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry , Industrial Biotechnology, etc. Teachers and Students of the faculty are entitled to borrow books from the library during working hours.
The library is open accessible to its reader from 8 am to 8 pm from Monday to Saturday. On an average 110 nos. of users are visited the library in every day. On a working day the library issues around 280 no of text books and 70 no of reference books. To maximize the capacity and make it user friendly we provide 8 nos. of newspapers (English, Oriya & Bengali) & newspapers clipping services provided inside the library to give our news updated.
Library is in the process of being automated through LIBSYS Software that is user friendly.

| Library Rules |
The following rules are mandatory for students.
- Keep personal belonging outside the library reading room in property counter.

Only with pen and note book you are allowed to enter in to the library cum reading room.

Switch off your mobile phone inside the library.

Chewing tobacco and eating any food items are strictly prohibited inside the library cum reading room.

Gossiping, whispering, sleeping and any type of discussion are not allowed inside the library.

Maintaining pin-drop silence is highly necessary inside the library cum reading room
-
Use of any electronic devices (lab-top, I-pud or ear Phone etc.) is not allowed inside library cum reading room.

Students are not allowed to take daily issue books/reference books outside the reading room unless they are permitted to do so.

Students are instructed to return their issued books from library within the due date, failing which a fine of Rs 2/- per day per book will be imposed on them.

Students are allowed to avail the reading room facility only in the leisure time

Do not throw any waste material waste paper, palybag etc. inside the reading room.

A sum of Rs10/- Per day will be collected as fine those who will not return the book on the same day to library for reading purposes.

| Membership |
The following are entitled to enroll themselves as members:
- Students of the SPS & CBT
- Teaching, non-teaching, academic and library staff.
- Special members.
The students of the University shall be enrolled as members of the Library after filling up the prescribed application form and on producing the Identity Card issued by the Dean's Office.
The special members i.e. those who are registered for Ph.D work directly connected with the university but want to avail of the library facilities shall be enrolled after submitting application and are duly introduced by the Dean/Head of Department concerned of the university. They shall be allowed to consult books/journals in the library. They shall also be given photo-copying service on payment basis.
The students shall renew their tickets at the beginning of each Academic year.
A member who has lost a Borrower Ticket shall request in writing for duplicate card to the Librarian. The member shall pay a fee of Rs.25/- for each duplicate ticket required which may be enhanced from time to time.
