AREA OF RESEARCH
Metabolic profiling and differential gene expression analysis of important medicinal plants
Medicinal plants are rich source of secondary metabolites. However, their quality and quantity vary with habitat and agroclimatic regions. Our research focuses on biochemical and molecular profiling of useful medicinal plants like turmeric and ginger producing metabolites such as curcumin and zerombon and expressional variability studies of genes encoding their synthesis at different agroclimatic regions.
